Jordan Love's Worst Game Of His Career Bails Out Josh McDaniels' Brain Dead Coaching Leaving The Packers In a World Of Trouble

It's fair to say the first two games of Jordan Love's 2023 season were exceptional and warranted hope from the fanbase. It's also fair to say the last three games have been filled with everyone's worst nightmares. Love's deep ball looks shaky, the forced throws have piled up, and the patience is dwindling. No bueno.

The Packers' QB1 threw three picks on Monday night in a game Green Bay really needed to get back on track, especially with the extra rest coming in. It was extremely ugly. Even getting gifted an additional chance to win the game thanks to Josh McDaniels' inability to make correct decisions, Love couldn't get it done in the final seconds.

Another under-thrown, late ball to Watson deep. Would have loved for the 6'4" receiver to fight back for the ball a bit, but also Amik Robertson jumped 10 feet in the air for this pick. I mean what the hell is this? Dude was floating.

Back to the ugly with Love….

Yeah I don't know man.

I don't know. I want to tell myself games like this were bound to happen with a young QB, but I was hoping we'd just avoid it altogether. Tonight we didn't see a seasoned QB who sat under Rodgers for years and learned everything there is to know. Love looked like a young guy thrown into the fire for the first time. He made countless mistakes and looked inferior to the Vegas Raiders.

That being said, Matt LaFleur has some answering to do here. For example, you get this massive 77 yard gain to set up 1st and goal from the 3. The next two plays are runs up the middle for nothing. Leads to a field goal instead of 7.

LaFleur having 10 days to prepare for the lowly Raiders and having the team look this flat in the first half is inexcusable. It's sadly been the theme all season long so far. In their last three first halves they have six total points. With Rodgers gone, this was supposed to be MLF's chance to fully take over and show what he's got. Can't say I love the results so far. There doesn't seem to be any plan with what he wants to do with this offensive unit. I know you're without your best skill position player in Aaron Jones, but it's gotta look better than this. Just look at what Jaire said after the game.

2-3 going into the bye, with Denver on the other side of it. You lose that game and the conversation shifts to the 2024 NFL Draft. Obviously this team isn't good right now, but I need to see some kind of bounce back and life. Right now it looks all the same of last year's stuck in the mud situation. They're honestly lucky to be where they are given that they were a play away from losing to the Saints. I'm not going to be dumb and give up on Love five games in, but he also doesn't have the luxury of time to ease his way in. The '24 class is loaded with QB talent. The more losses that pile up here you're going to be picking higher and higher there. Make good use of this bye week and get right.

P.S. Kinda crazy this horse-collar tackle ending up being the difference for the Raiders in winning the game. Didn't care for it.

P.P.S. McDaniels attempting that 52 yard field goal on 4th and 2 with two minutes left was just about as soft a play call as it gets. How do you not go for that and try to end it right there? The fact that he got away with that is sickening. What an awful coach.
